Workplace wellbeing

How do we get staff to actually use our wellbeing benefits?

Low take-up is common, and it is usually about friction and trust, not apathy. People skip benefits when they are unsure what they cover, worry that using them will be noticed, or simply have no time. A long list of perks in a welcome pack is easy to forget, so mentioning one thing at a time works better than announcing everything at once.

Make the first step tiny and private. Say clearly what the employer can and cannot see, make it possible to use something without telling anyone, and let people try it in their own time. Managers matter most: when a manager mentions using a benefit themselves, or protects time for it, others follow.

Then ask people what they actually want, and drop what nobody uses. A short anonymous question every quarter, such as which of these did you use and what would you swap, gives you better information than attendance figures, and it shows staff that the programme is built around them.

How 365ALIVE helps

365ALIVE is built around very small daily actions and no streak pressure, so people can pick it up in a spare minute without feeling behind. Workplace pilots are being planned, and we would value feedback from employers who want a gentler option. Email hello@365alive.uk.
